My boyfriend's mom was in Boston recently and happened upon this exhibit. It's "Wearable Art 2012" at Copley Place, Boston. It's by MASSART (Massachusetts College of Art and Design). The students took concepts and techniques that they learned in school and applied it to garments for the showcase.

The exhibit features 36 garments. Some of the garments were made from silk and fabric, while others were made from sponges, tree bark and other such materials. The students got the chance to showcase their designs at the highly populated venue, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for some.

This dress is made from sponges. How cute is it?

If you're in Boston and this tickles your fancy, go check out "Wearable Art 2012". It runs from September 7-27 at the Center Court at Copley Place Boston.

Thanks, Margaret, for sharing!!
