Rafael Cennamo presented his Spring/ Summer Presentation at Lincoln Center. The clothes were full of drama and excitement, the kind of stuff we dream about when we think of Fashion Week. With a flair for the extreme and a penchant for Japanese culture, Cennamo let it all be known with chiffon and chignons.
The first hint that you're in for a treat is the exaggerated eyelashes, drawn onto the models' faces. Topped off with smoky eyes and strong brows, Cennamo's Spring woman wants to lock you in with her gaze. Perfect skin and subtle lips kept the focus on the peepers.
If you were doubting that the vintage flared skirt and modest hemline, cut demurely past the knee kind of silhouette was here to stay, doubt no more. I love it because it cinches the waist and forgives hips in a way that flatters most body types.
Trend Spotting: V Neck
Rafael Cennamo's Spring/ Summer Collection paid homage to Japanese culture without going to severe lengths. The clothes were soft and elegant, yet exciting and on trend.
Special thanks to Trinidadian, Chantal Ross for sharing her style notes and pictures.
